April 9, 2006 (Long Beach, California) Los Angeles based racecar driver Duncan Ende provided further evidence of his adaptive racing ability by finishing 16th of 28 racers in his debut “Champcar Atlantic Powered by Mazda†racing event, and equalling the best driver improvement of the race by passing a total of 11 competitors during the race at an average speed of 119.927 kilometers per hour.
“This has been such an amazing weekend, and an incredibly steep learing curve.â€Â enthused Ende after exiting his car #55 cockpit. “The weather, the fans, the excitement of a brand new racecar, and my Bite Racing Team and I were able to get the job done without incident. I’m thrilled and relieved at the same time, and can’t wait to get back out there again for another race!â€
Bite Racing Team owner Dr. Chris Souliotis and the Bite Racing Crew of Victoria, British Columbia were equally impressed by Ende. “Duncan did an incredible job out there today.†stated Souliotis. “Anytime you can pass that many cars, avoiding crashes and debris and get the car to the finish line in one piece, you know something special is going on.â€
Based on the outstanding performance at this event, details are being worked on to reunite Ende and the Bite Racing Team for further events in 2006, with an eye towards a full season assault in 2007. Further announcements will be made when determined.
